<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There was nothing else to do: whether I had been sincere or not, whether she had been lying or not, made no difference now. I went home and sat in the rocking chair, sick. It was already eleven-thirty in the morning. I was out of straws to clutch at, and out of energy, beaten clear down the line. I tried to force my imagination to dream up another long shot, but all I could think of was Rennie, eight or ten hours from that moment, going to the living-room closet without a word. Joe, perhaps, would be bent over a notebook on the writing table. He might hear Rennie put down &#8212; her newspaper? &#8212; and go to the closet. I could imagine him then either continuing to stare at the notebook, but no longer seeing the words he&#8217;d written, or maybe turning his head to watch her open the closet door. The boys would be asleep in their room. I didn&#8217;t believe Rennie would come back into the living room to do it. There in the closet, where the half-open door would stand between her and Joe, she&#8217;d reach the Colt down from the shelf, move the safety catch off, put the muzzle to her temple, and pull the trigger at once, before the feel of the barrel against her head made her vomit. I believed she might sit down on the closet floor to do it.</p>
<p> That was as far as I could imagine with any clarity, for I&#8217;d never seen a bloody corpse. For perhaps two hours &#8212; that is, until about one-thirty &#8212; this sequence of actions repeated itself over and over in my imagination, up to the moment of the explosion. Drastic courses of action: I could go out there and &#8212; try to rush for the gun? But what would I do with it? They&#8217;d simply look at me, and Rennie would use something else later. Grab Rennie and hold her, if possible. Forever? Call the police and tell them &#8212; that a woman was about to commit suicide. What could they do? She&#8217;d be sitting home reading the paper, Joe working at the writing table. Tell her I&#8217;ve arranged an abortion &#8212; with whom? For when? Tell her &#8212; what?</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Even the problem of God&#8217;s &#8220;intention&#8221; in creating the universe becomes rather beside the point. An artist may quite fail to reach his goal, for one thing &#8212; Faulkner tells us that all novels are failed poems. Or he may not even know what his deepest intentions are until some critic (or theologian) tells him. The novelist&#8217;s intention may escape us altogether &#8212; at least the characters can&#8217;t guess it! &#8212; and anyhow we&#8217;re all aware of the &#8220;intentional fallacy&#8221; the critics speak of: If we see a meaning in the universe different from the author&#8217;s intended one, ours may be quite as valid as his, other things being equal. The fact is, a work of art has a life of its own, and so in this sense does the universe. Different people, including the author, see different things in it, and all may be right in a way and wrong in a way, for the universe &#8220;means&#8221; many things and nothing, like a great novel (though it may not mean just any old thing a freshman reader wants it to mean).</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Science is important to most people living in the modern world for a number of reasons.Science is important to world peace, to the understanding of technology, and to our understanding of the natural world. Science is also an interesting area of study for a number of reasons. Some areas of science are espacially interesting because they deal with questions all men and women ask.Science tries to procide some explanations for what happens to people.</p>
<p>Science is hard to study. One of the reason is that there are so many questions without answers.Much of sciece involves asking questions, and then studying and doing research to try to find the answers. Some questions have been studied by research scientists for many years, and the answers are still not known. However, scientists are slowly but surely able to answer more and more questions about life, and these answers change our lives and also explain them.</p>
<p>All kinds of Science are important and interesting.Scientists are asking and answering many interesting and important questions about people and their lives.A basic knowledge of science can help you to understand both the questions and the answers. In the modern world, this ability is essential to everyone. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With well over 200 species, a short survey of South Africa&#8217;s indigenous mammals is a contradiction in terms. A few examples will help to indicate the range.</p>
<p>In terms of appeal, primates rate highly. In South Africa they include the nocturnal bushbabies, vervet and samango monkeys, and chacma baboons which &#8211; encouraged by irresponsible feeding and under pressure through loss of habitat &#8211; have become unpopular as raiders of homes on the Cape Peninsula.</p>
<p>Dassies (hyraxes, residents of rocky habitats) and meerkats (suricates, familiar from their alert upright stance) have tremendous charm, although the dassie can be an agricultural problem.</p>
<p>The secretive nocturnal aardvark (which eats ants and is the only member of the order Tubulidentata) and the aardwolf (which eats termites and is related to the hyaena) are two more appealing creatures, and both are found over virtually the whole country.</p>
<p>And for those who like their terrestrial mammals damp, there is the widely distributed Cape clawless otter, which swims in both fresh and sea water. The spotted-necked otter has a more limited territory. Both are rare, however, and difficult to spot.</p>
<p>One mammal whose charm is recently acquired is the wild dog or Cape hunting dog, one of Africa&#8217;s most endangered mammals. Once erroneously reviled as indiscriminate killers but now appreciated both for their ecological value and their remarkably caring family behaviour, wild dog packs require vast territories.</p>
<p>They are found in small numbers in the Kruger National Park and environs, northern KwaZulu-Natal (including the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park), the Kalahari, and the Madikwe reserve in North West province.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In our marketplace today, we spend hours and hours on a computer surfing the internet. According to research, it is estimated that many of us are exposed to <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/chanel-handbags-c-22.html"><strong>Chanel Handbags</strong></a> over 200 logo designs or branding marks per hour. Your logo will be used on your business cards, your website, outdoor designs, various spots on the Internet, and on promotional items like T-shirts, mugs, key chains, etc. At that rate, in order to be memorable to our clients, that logo had better pop out and stick <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/chanel-handbags-c-22.html"><strong>Chanel Handbags</strong></a> in someone&#8217;s memory, wouldn&#8217;t you say?</p>
<p>What Makes A Good Logo</p>
<p>Big business knows how important it is to have success in all the elements of their business, so they attach a high value to branding and logo design. Strive to achieve the following characteristics:</p>
<p>* Consistent with all the other elements of your marketing</p>
<p>* Graphically enticing and memorable</p>
<p>* Represent your company and products meaningfully</p>
<p>* Be as unique as possible</p>
<p>* Appear professional drafted</p>
<p>* Function beyond the limits of time</p>
<p>* Not melt into the background of your marketing pieces</p>
<p>When you employ a graphic designer to craft your logo, you want it to:</p>
<p>* Last for a long time</p>
<p>* Be distinctive from your competition</p>
<p>* Appealing to your target market</p>
<p>* Communicate the right image.</p>
<p>* Be legible and easily understood</p>
<p>Paul Rand was a superb innovator in the arena of logo design. IBM&#8217;s logo is attributed to him. Without it even being shown here, you can visualize those three letters in horizontal blue stripes, can&#8217;t you? That&#8217;s a logo with all the key elements listed above. Rand united letters and found unique graphical ways of utilizing the letters of a word or a persons name <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/chanel-handbags-c-22.html"><strong>Chanel Handbags</strong></a> through typography or engravers design and he frequently wove modern art styles into his logo designs.</p>
<p>Eye Catching Design</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not an easy thing to make a simple graphical symbol to represent the entirety of a company&#8217;s Mission Statement, and yet a good graphic designer can do just that. The very best logos are quite sophisticated in their simplicity, because they combine and refine symbols, colors, and typography as well as space into one tight, concise unit.</p>
<p>A good logo has a strong, balanced image without clutter surrounding it that might distract one&#8217;s attention from the logo message. Bold graphics are easier to see at a glance and they work better than logos with thin, delicate lines. Your logo should avoid trendiness in order to achieve the element of timelessness. Trendy fonts or images will distract from your message.</p>
<p>Color and Black &#038; White</p>
<p>Your logo will mainly be used in it&#8217;s colorized version, but it&#8217;s wise to check its appearance in black and white as well. Faxes, in particular, communicate mainly <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/chanel-handbags-c-22.html"><strong>Chanel Handbags</strong></a> in black and white and you&#8217;ll want your logo to be easily recognized without color.</p>
<p>You should record somewhere you <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/chanel-handbags-c-22.html"><strong>Chanel Handbags</strong></a> can easily retrieve the PMS ink formula of the spot color(s) in your logo. If you ever have to use a four color printing process, you&#8217;ll need this information. You can check a spot-color-to-process-color conversion swatch book for this information, and you&#8217;ll be glad you have it recorded.</p>
<p>Full color logos are wonderful to look at, but expensive to print on your marketing pieces. It&#8217;s much more economical to print your letterhead, envelopes, business cards and brochures in one, two or three colors.</p>
<p>Graphics for the Internet</p>
<p>Here is a check list for what you&#8217;ll need from your graphic artist so that you can use your logo on the internet:</p>
<p>* A jpg or gif file format</p>
<p>* Resolution at 72 pixels per inch</p>
<p>* In the RGB color space</p>
<p>Your successful logo design can make or break your business. I&#8217;d recommend having your graphic artist provide several samples. Let your friends see them and place a strong value on their input. Then, let several people see them who don&#8217;t know you or your business and listen attentively to their feedback. And then, for this key element in your business branding, the final choice is yours.<br /><a href="http://adela.boseviews.com/2010/06/24/keeping-your-car-payments-low/"><strong>Keeping Your Car Payments Low</strong></a></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By A.P. Lawrence 0
<p>Perl folk seem not to like Python, at least not <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com"><strong>women handbags</strong></a> at first glance. <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/prada-handbags-c-35.html"><strong>prada handbags</strong></a> It&#8217;s easy to understand why: the languages serve similar purposes, but have annoyingly different syntax and structure. There have been converts, though, and Eric S. Raymond&#8217;s experiences are probably not atypical.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve noticed that Linux Journal has had more than a few Python articles, and the most recent issue has begun a tutorial series. That article prompted me to take a more serious look. </p>
<p>First Impressions<br />I went to http://www.python.org/doc/current/index.html and used the excellent tutorial there. I found things to like and things to dislike immediately: </p>
<p>Liked</p>
<p>That object methods are the default, not something tacked on: </p>
<p><code>a=['abc','def','ghijkl']<br />print "Before Append",a<br />a.append('hello')<br />print "After Append",a</p>
<p>...</p>
<p>Before Append ['abc', 'def', 'ghijkl']<br />After Append ['abc', 'def', 'ghijkl', 'hello']</code></p>
<p>There&#8217;s a whole boatload of built-in methods: see http://www.python.org/doc/current/tut/node7.html. I&#8217;m not going to say I like these better <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/miu-miu-handbags-c-34.html"><strong>miu miu handbags</strong></a> than the Perl functions that do similar things, but I certainly have no problems with these and can see good use for them. </p>
<p>That integer math is the default unless one or more of the operands isn&#8217;t an integer:
<p><code>print 7 / 2<br />print 7.0 / 2</p>
<p>...</p>
<p>3<br />3.5</code></p>
<p>That semicolons at the end of lines are optional: any of these are fine:
<p><code>print 7/2;print 7/2.0</p>
<p>print 7/2;<br />print 7/2.0</p>
<p>print 7/2<br />print 7/2.0</code></p>
<p>Leaving off semicolons is a common Perl goof.. </p>
<p>Indentation syntax. Everything indented is part of what happens when &#8220;mytest&#8221; is not 0 or null:
<p><code>mytest=1<br />if mytest:<br <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com"><strong>Designer Handbags</strong></a> /> &amp;nbsp&amp;nbsp print "mytest ",<br /> &amp;nbsp&amp;nbsp print "is set"</p>
<p>print "hello ",</code></p>
<p>Oddly, this is something most Perl types really hate, but I&#8217;d find it easy to get used to. Since most of us tend to indent code within blocks anyway, it seems reasonable to me to dispense with the braces and just use the indentation. </p>
<p>Default argument values for functions:
<p><code>def foo(prompt="huh?", count=2):<br />&amp;nbsp print prompt,count</p>
<p>foo()<br />foo("go","seven")<br />foo(count=89)</p>
<p>...<br />huh? 2<br />go seven<br />huh? 89</code></p>
<p>I really like that. </p>
<p>Exception handling. I like &#8220;try/except&#8221; logic (apparently Perl 6 has this too);
<p>Disliked</p>
<p>Variables. I don&#8217;t like the C-ish variable names. I LIKE that Perl requires a $, @ or whatever ahead of a variable name &#8211; it makes it stand out. I also like that Perl&#8217;s $a is different than @a etc. Data types. Setting a one value tuple is absolutely ugly:
<p><code>this='abc','def',0;<br />print this, len(this)<br />this='hello' # NOT a tuple<br />print this, len(this)<br />this='hello', # Now it is<br />print this, len(this)</p>
<p>...<br />('abc', 'def', 0) 3<br />hello 5<br />('hello',) 1</code></p>
<p>This is a consequence of not having data prefixes or formal declarations. </p>
<p>No <code>"a++" or "a--". </code>Sheesh.No<code> "$_". </code>There&#8217;s _, which apparently <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/prada-handbags-c-35.html"><strong>prada handbags</strong></a> isn&#8217;t quite the same &#8211; unless I misunderstand, which is certainly possible at this point.
<p>Overall, I think I&#8217;ll stick with Perl. I can see Eric Raymond&#8217;s argument for larger projects, but I don&#8217;t do large projects anymore and I just find Perl&#8217;s wild versatility and lack of insistence (More Than One Way To Do It) more attractive than more structured languages. But Python certain does have its appealing aspects, so I&#8217;ll probably dabble with it here and there. </p>
<p>I certainly cannot agree with some who insist that Python is easier to read or understand than Perl. That&#8217;s just ridiculous: neither of them add anything to helping understand someone else&#8217;s code. Perl isn&#8217;t any more &#8220;cryptic&#8221; than Python. Nor can I understand the attitude that Perl is deficient because you can do things in multiple ways. If you insist on such structure, enforce it upon yourself: nobody is stopping you. I do understand that for larger projects, with multiple people involved, structure is more necessary. </p>
<p>All in all, I wouldn&#8217;t be terribly upset if I got &#8220;stuck&#8221; with something that had to be done in Python. It&#8217;s a very reasonable scripting tool and does have some very nice features.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><!-- surphace start -->What if you took an original Adamo, shaved a couple pounds off the weight and a grand off the price? You&#8217;d end up with something pretty close to the new Dell Vostro V13. <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/balenciaga-handbags-c-19.html"><strong>balenciaga handbags</strong></a> We just got a quick look at the machine, and while some of the cheaper materials Dell is using here certainly came through, the total package is still quite impressive &#8212; and the price unimpeachable. The anodized aluminum exterior is smooth to the touch and gives the frame of the entire laptop a great amount of stiffness; none of that <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/balenciaga-handbags-c-19.html"><strong>balenciaga handbags</strong></a> bendy nonsense that can be found in <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/balenciaga-handbags-c-19.html"><strong>balenciaga handbags</strong></a> some of <a href="http://www.supershandbag.com/balenciaga-handbags-c-19.html"><strong>balenciaga handbags</strong></a> the $500ish thin-and-light competition. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a antigloss (not quite matte) display under the hood. Unfortunately, the compromises begin with the keyboard, which is a bit bendy and &#8220;clacky&#8221; (the bad version of &#8220;clicky&#8221;), and the 6 volt battery gets 4.75 hours as quoted, so probably around three in real life. We&#8217;re also a little disappointed<strike> that the $450 base price rips out the SD card and ExpressCard slots, and</strike> that you can&#8217;t get a Windows 7 version for under $600 &#8212; even though the Ubuntu default is mighty tempting. So, there are compromises, just like in <em>life</em>, but for the most part this is one of the least timid computers we&#8217;ve seen from Dell in a while: not afraid to step on the toes of its brandmates and make a name for itself. Check out a quick video hands-on after the break, and stand by for our review that should hopefully arrive later this month. </p>
<p><strong>Update:</strong> We got some bad info, and it turns out that the ExpressCard and SD card slots <em>do</em> come standard with the laptop &#8212; the mockup we saw didn&#8217;t have them, but all shipping models will. Phew! Dell Vostro V13 hands-on </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people believe business outsourcing to companies outside of the United States is not right and we should hire our own citizens.</p>
<p>Many of the accusations are regarding keeping the money in the U.S., dodging taxes, and more.</p>
<p>When a company uses business outsourcing for their project needs, customer or technical support, or call centers they are saving a lot of money they would normally have to pay to the government in Federal<br />taxes.</p>
<p>Businesses usually have to pay a double tax. Corporations are taxed on an extremely high level income tax rate. When a company <a href="http://www.thefakewatch.com/guess-watches-c-127.html"><strong>gucci ladies watches</strong></a> uses a business outsourcing company then they don’t have to pay the<br />taxes to the United States.</p>
<p>In addition, they are able to pay a much lower wage to people who are willing to accept whatever they can get. This can save a business millions of dollars in a year.</p>
<p>Another big criticism is that American companies need to keep the money in the United States. They need to create the jobs for Americans and Americans need the money.</p>
<p>The money and the jobs should stay in the U.S. and this would be supporting the local economy. Many people believe this argument to be true but the money savings is the biggest benefit. Sarbanes-Oxley has also forced companies to flee out of the jurisdiction of the United States so they do not have to be compliant.</p>
<p>Many people complain about companies outsourcing their employees and giving jobs to people outside of the United States.</p>
<p>However, businesses benefit much more because of the high taxations that occur on businesses and the strict policies toward businesses.</p>
<p>When you decide upon business outsourcing for project needs it is important to verify who the people are who will be working in your business. You should verify the employees as you would your own.</p>
<p>If you run backgrounds tests on your employees, then you should do the same with an outsourcing business’s employees.</p>
<p>It will be hard for you to <a href="http://www.thefakewatch.com/"><strong>gucci watches</strong></a> demand that outsourcing employees agree to a background check or a drug test.</p>
<p>What you can do is use only a company who will provide the proof to you the people are acceptable. You should get a name of every person who will be entering your<br />business working on the project.</p>
<p>Sometimes when there are a lot of people entering the business from an outsourced company it can be confusing who is with the company and who is in the building without authorization.</p>
<p>Be sure you know each employee who works for the outsourced company and provide them with temporary badges to wear. This way, anyone who is not wearing one of the temporary badges can be questioned with reason.</p>
<p>Your employees have a right to feel safe at their place of work. You cannot bring in people who have dangerous backgrounds to work on an outsourced project for you.</p>
<p>you should verify all of the provided information and know every person who will be working on an outsourced project. All of these employees from the business outsourcing company should be properly introduced to your staff so everyone feels comfortable with the people walking through the halls.</p>
